How Do I Use RSS?

To use RSS, you will need RSS reader software that will allow you to collect and view RSS content. There are many different RSS readers available, many for free. Most RSS readers are applications that you download and install. Others are Web-based services that you sign up for and work inside your browser.

Standalone application:
The procedure described below has been validated with Feedreader but as all standalone readers are similar it should be fairly easy to adapt it to a different reader.

-Download and install the Feedreader tool
-On StarChip RSS webpage (this page), click on the feed name you looking at, for instance StarChip News feed (see above)
-This will open a new page on your internet browser (feedburner)
-In the url bar select the complete url, right-click and select "Copy"
-Open Feedreader, select file then new then feed
-In the opened window paste the address in the url field
-Choose a name for this feed and save

On the main page of the reader, the content of the RSS will be updated regularly.

Plug-in mode:
Some tools provide a plug-in RSS reader to allow to follow your feeds.
For instance once you have clicked on the feed name most internet browsers like Firefox or Safari will handle automatically the feed for you.
Some mail tool like Microsoft Outlook does also provide such mechanism but you need to enable the function.
For example, to add the StarChip News feed on your Outlook tool, follow the procedure:
On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
On the RSS Feeds tab, click New.
In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type the URL of the RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/starchip-ic/KyuG
Click Add.
Click OK.

On the left column of Outlook a new item (RSS) appeared with the StarChip feed which will be automatically updated.
